Stallion of the Year 2001
Sixtus is a true to type black stallion with an ideal format and excellent proportions, he is long-lined with a significant shoulder and a harmonious connection.
The excellent quality of his movements with actively pushing hindquarters, his rare talent for jumping as well as a performance-tested and, incidentally, fertile bloodline make this stallion a highly interesting sport horse and sire.
His sire Habicht won the 1970 stallion performance test in Westercelle, was champion stallion of the Central Stallion Show in Schwaiganger in 1977, winner of the international eventing trial at advanced (S) level in Achselschwang and gained numerous further wins and placings in eventing trials at S level.
Habicht sired a total of 16 approved sons, including the champion stallion Seeadler, reserve champion Sixtus and the premium stallion Windfall, who was federal champion of German eventing horses in 1998 and won the bronze medal in eventing at the 2004 Olympics in Athens with the US team.
On the dam's side it is the DLG champion Ibikus, one of the best riding horse sires of Trakehner breeding, who is particularly worth mentioning.
From 1995 to 1998, Sixtus, a reserve champion, was used for show jumping where he gained a total of four wins in advanced level classes and more than 50 placings in jumping classes. With 138 points he boasts the highest jumping index of all Trakehner stallions. In 1996, he participated in the federal championships of German show jumpers in Warendorf and in the world championships of young show jumpers in Zangersheide/Belgium.
