Already as a two-year-old, premium stallion Fellini made his mark in the breeding community. He was awarded at the stallion licensing and became reserve champion at the Trakehner stallion market. His performance there can be best described by breeding director Lars Gehrmann:
“Fellini is a sportive achiever. He has an impressive appearance with calibre and great importance to the scene. His strong and still easy movements amaze through a translation that not only convinces the equestrians. On top of that, this young stallion has terrific manners, which complete the entirely positive impression.”
Fellini is the first and to this date only licensed son of Berlusconi, who is versatile and ambitious in sport. Berlusconi has an exquisite pedigree: His father Axis competed successfully for many years under Finland’s Terhi Stegars in international Grand Prix, until he died unexpectedly last year. His mother is the exceptional Trakehner mare Bandera, who was best mare at her grading, annual champion mare, won the Trakehner Bundesturnier and was a finalist in the Bundeschampionat. She is also mother to the premium stallion Benderas.
The mother of Fellini is St.Pr.u.Pr.St. Fatima, a daughter to Grafenstolz. As that, she holds an important position in breeding. Grafenstolz is federal champion of eventing, world champion of young eventing horses, and was later on successful on the highest levels of eventing and in World Cups. He is bred out of the elite stallion Polarion. For years now, Grafenstolz is positioned on the highest ranks of the World Breeding Rankings for eventing horses. As the only contestant, he was able to qualify in for the Bundeschampionat of dressage horses, eventing horses and jumping horses, all in the same year.
Fatima produced also Fellini’s half-sister Fleur, who became the first reserve champion of the Trakehner federal broodmare show, when she was two years old. At three years, she won the central registration of mares in Bavaria. Furthermore, she won her performance test and was nominated for the Bundeschampionat of the German Riding Horse. A mare with an outstanding personality and stature. The grandmother produced Feiner Prinz, a licensed stallion in the American Trakehner Association, and the show jumping horse Fleur Rouge.
Fellini’s maternal side has proven as a distinguished dam line. It presented all equestrian sport disciplines with numerous horses competing on the highest levels. The show jumping horses Fenitza, Pikeur Formidable, Flambeau, Faraday, Fabienne, Flieder, Feuerball, Fizzcaraldo as well as the dressage horses Flavio Go, Florentine, Forint, Fabius, Falkenhorst, Finalist, Feuerzauber, Fantast, Fernando, Famos und Flavius are only some of the successful relatives.
This widely branched Dynasty is, moreover, represented by the main sires Flaneur, his full brother Mahdi, who is popular in the Bavarian horse breeding, the New Zealand founding stallion Falkensee, the licensing winners Freudenfest and Farinelli (successful in dressage), the international Grand Prix star Finckenstein TSF, who was representing Denmark at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, USA, with his rider Rikke Svane, and the sires Flugwind (USA), Feingeist (USA), Falkner (DNK), Fahnenträger II or Fairmont Hill.
Fellini’s genes are a precious combination of Axis-Sixtus, Friedensfürst, Diamant and Grafenstolz-Polarion.
In the 14-day performance test, Fellini was presented with the highest final score between all participating dressage stallions. All gaits were at least rated with an 8 by the judges and for his character and commitment he gained top marks. During the sport suitability test for stallions all gaits were also rated 8 or better and he finished fourth.
Fellinis first start at a tournament with his rider Sabrina Geßmann was in a qualifier for the “Bundeschampionat”, which they won immediatel. This success finally brought him an entry in the Stallion Book I of the Trakehner Verband. Under the future master in horse management and fist rider at the stables of Helen Langehanenberg, Sabrina Geßmann, Fellini won another dressage test. With two victories in the Bundeschampionat for dressage horses in Warendorf he reached an outstanding result.
At the Trakehner Bundesturnier 2019 the young stallion could claim the title of dressage champion with a second place and a victory in the dressage horse class M competitions.
Fellini will have his first breeding in the covering season of 2019 and will be available for fresh semen.
