Tradition for almost 300 years
Trakehner horses have been bred for almost 300 years. Thus, they are considered the oldest riding horse breed in Germany. The breeding of the Trakehner can, without any gaps, be traced back to the foundation of the Prussian main stud Trakehnen back in 1732. The Trakehner is considered a noble breed. To this day, this is the only riding horse breed to be bred according to the principle of pure-breeding, with a high proportion of English and Arabian Thoroughbred, Shagya and Anglo-Arabian genes.
Trakehner horses are suitable for all areas of equestrian sports, thus coming very close to the ideal of a modern riding horse. Therefore our breeding aim is a riding and sport horse that is true to the Trakehner type, easy to ride and has versatile talents as well as a good attitude.
